Screening services

Screen people and businesses against the lists your compliance programme cares about — then keep a clear audit trail of what you checked, when, and what came back.

TumiTrust Screening is a hosted product offering from TumiTrust. It sits alongside Portable Trust Infrastructure (PTI), but it is not part of the open PTI specification. You can use screening for day-one KYC and onboarding even before a full trust relationship exists.

In plain terms: Screening answers “are they on a watchlist we care about?” Trust reports answer “what does their portable trust look like across life contexts?” You can do either — or both.

Deep background on the open standard: PTI & TumiTrust · Why PTI.

Who Screening is for

  • Banks and digital lenders — agency onboarding, SME KYC, PEP review
  • Insurers — policyholder and beneficiary checks before cover
  • Payments, VAS, and fintech integrators — screen at the edge (USSD, pay rail, merchant desk) via embed
  • Employers and platforms — hire / seller onboarding where list checks are required
  • Compliance and risk teams — audit-ready history without juggling vendor portals

If you already use TumiTrust for trust lookups and reports, Screening plugs into the same institution hub. If you only need list checks today, you can start there and grow into trust intelligence later.

What you can check

You choose a list pack — a focused set of lists for that run — instead of wading through vendor catalogues.

List pack (examples)In everyday language
Sanctions + PEP (default)Sanctions families and political exposure, plus UN Security Council lists
Sanctions & embargoesAsset freezes, debarment, export-control style families
Political exposure (PEP)Officials, PEPs, and close associates
UN Security Council listsEmphasis on UN list 1267, 1373, and 1988
Broader watchlist / financial crime / debarmentWider risk lenses when your programme needs them
Full federated packWidest coverage configured for your institution

Results stay honest: lists you did not ask for are marked skipped, not silently “clear.”

How teams use it

1. Screening Intelligence (console)

In your institution hub, open Screening. Enter a legal name (and optional date of birth, national ID, country). Pick a list pack. Run the check.

You see a simple outcome — clear or needs review — plus which lists were covered. Matches that need a human eye are highlighted for your analysts.

2. Embed on your own product

Drop a TumiTrust screening card into your portal, agent app, or partner site. The subject gets a portable ID when a record is opened. Your brand story stays clear: TumiTrust runs the check; your organisation (and, if you use an integrator, the partner network) appears on the attribution rail.

Technical surface: Trust platform API (screening and embed sections).

3. Compliance Center (audit)

Every completed run lands in Compliance — searchable history, coverage matrix, list pack label, and CSV export for committees and regulators. Provenance includes when the check ran and which mode applied (live screening, cached result, and so on).

4. Alongside trust reports (optional)

When you run a Risk assessment trust lookup, screening can be included automatically for people already on the network. If search finds no directory match, the hub can route to external screening first, open a claimable trust record, then let you continue to a full report later.

That path is described in Risk & Compliance Intelligence.

What you get back

OutcomeMeaning for your team
ClearNo actionable hit on the lists you ran
Needs reviewOne or more lists flagged a potential match — decide before you proceed
Partial / skippedSome lists ran; others were out of pack or not configured — review coverage

You do not get a raw dump of third-party vendor internals in the partner-facing card. Analysts use Screening Intelligence and Compliance Center for the detail your programme needs.

How Screening relates to portable trust

Screening can open a door into the trust network:

  1. You screen someone who is not yet on TumiTrust.
  2. A provisional portable record (with a PTI-ID) can be created.
  3. When that person joins TumiTrust, they can claim the record.
  4. Later lookups see both list history and growing trust evidence.

So Screening is a strong on-ramp. Full context-scoped trust scores, explainability, and multi-partner evidence remain the job of the trust platform and PTI.

Getting started

  1. Register your institution on tumitrust.com and complete onboarding.
  2. Confirm Screening is enabled for your package (see Institution packages).
  3. Open Screening in the hub — try a known clear subject, then a review case your compliance team expects.
  4. Optional: mint embed credentials under API & trust signals and place the screening card on your site.
  5. Optional: turn on Risk assessment lookups so screening and trust reports share one workflow.
